Taekwondo Martial Arts Basics : Taekwondo Front Stance

Hello! My name is Sid Nelson, master instructor
in Martial Arts. I’m representing expertvillage.com. The next stance we’re going to do is a front
stance. We need to keep in mind our length, width, and weight distribution. We’ll step
out with the left leg about 4 foot steps forward in length. In width, we want our feet to be
about shoulder’s width wide. Imagine rolling a basketball through the legs. Weight distribution,
you want 60% of the weight on your front knee. Positioned on the back will be about 40%.
We want our front knee to be bent so that we cannot see our toes over the front knee
when our back is nice and straight. Again, we want to show good posture with our back.
The feet should be both turned forward as possible. Remember, stances offer us the best
balance and offer us strength in our legs in our training in our beginning course.

  1. This is pretty upsetting considering all the stripes on his belt and the fact that he called himself a master… or even worse….. if he is a master and can't do a decent front stance.
