Tae Kwon Do Strikes and Kicks : Taekwondo Skip and Reverse Hook Kick

In this clip we’ll talk about skip hook kick
and reverse hook kick. The skip hook kick is an offensive attack because you?re moving
forward toward your opponent. A skip hook kick looks like this. And one more time. So
to break it down the first thing you want to do is take a step, skip, pre-pivoting your
foot, picking up your leg, kicking, re-chambering, and set it down. So one more time; take a
step, skip, pre-pivoting your foot, picking it up, kicking, re-chamber, and set it down.
So once again your going to want to take a step, skip toward your foot, pre-pivoting
your foot, kicking, re-chambering, and setting it down. One more time; taking a step, skipping
toward your foot pre-pivoting, kicking, and setting it down. A reverse hook kick looks
like this. To break it down the first thing your going to do is take a step, pre-pivoting
your foot, setting it down, looking over your shoulder, identifying your target, chambering,
kicking, and setting it down. A little bit faster. One more time breaking it down; take
a step, pivot your foot, set down your heel looking over your shoulder, chambering, kicking
out, and down. One more time; pre-pivot your foot, set it down, look over your shoulder,
find your target, chamber, kick, and set it down. That is your reverse hook kick.

  1. honestly the kick is OKAY… (the way he performs uhm yea) but like he sounds gay/girlish… hold your hands up like a man… that hook kick despite your flexibility (actually not THAT great compared to some TKD guys)would be useless if you don't put more life in your body, more strength more explosiveness, etc…

  2. yeah, he's just like one guy in my TKD class. he only relies on his flexibility but puts no live, no weight and no hips into his kicks…

  3. "Expert: Nate Hetick… is 19 year old 2nd degree black" no offense but an 'Expert' in Taekwon-Do is of a 4th Degree or higher.
nice looking kicks but neither are on target, hook/skip hook kick should be striking in the same position as a side kick…. to the side (90 degrees from the front of your body). same applies to reverse hooking kick apart from your spinning 180 to do it. not bad but not quite right.

Then again, it depends on what Taekwondo/taekwon-do/tae kwon do this is for/from.

  4. @ahyahyahy I agree about the hands, although ive noticed that many TKD MA:s arent good with their hands, just feet, but it shouldn't be that way.

  5. @Honor114 omg i said the same thing… but looking at it again. he's lazy (doing it lazy) he has the flexibility to reach high without dipping his torsoe. but because of it even the the swipe of the foot is NICE, its the type that would get stuck on the shoulder because hes not dipping his upper body and really getting power out his hips to go through a SOLID target. Think thats it…
