How are you doing? My name is Qaeem, I’m
going to be demonstrating Shorin-Ryu. On behalf of Expert Village, I’m going to be demonstrating
the horse stance. The horse stance is unlike any other stance. The forward stance or the
back stance where you are going to move forward. The horse stance you’re going to move side
to side. The horse stance was designed for when you are in tight spaces. When you only
have maybe a foot of space between the front and the back. What you’re going to be doing
is, once again, you’re going to start out in the ready position and then you are going
to step off from the side. In your horse stance, you don’t want to be too deep in your stance
where it’s going to be hard for you to move. You want to be just enough where you are bending
your knees but still we have the balance, which is centered. In order to move from the
horse stance you’re going to move from the side to side. You want to bring your foot
over your knees. You are going to step down and going to make a little cross. You’re
going to come here and then you’re going to cross. Then this foot is going to come
over and your back into horse stance position. Once again, moving the back to my left, come
up, and you are crossing. Once again, let us do it. We’re going to do it in a faster
motion; we’re going to put it all in one. Once again, you see as though when I finish
my horse stance I’m still in the same position, I stay at the same height. One of the things
in the horse stance, you don’t want to come up. You want to stay in the center, you want
to stay low, you want to move from side to side. That is the horse stance. On behalf
