This is Lithuanian championship. Which is the most important competition in Lithuania Where the winners will get the chance to represent Lithuania at the European championship And the World championship as well All the people who have gathered here – deserve to win. Everyone deserves to be a champion. But only a few of you will become champions Only the best ones. The ones who will show the most determination and will I wish everybody luck And let the best one win. Osu! For example I didn’t even know that I could be a kata practitioner I remember when we have just started learning kata’s at classes The trainer has approached me and said to me: — Lina can you do it stronger. Just harder better and maybe then you’ll manage to do it differently Because right now you are doing it like everybody else does So I have tried and it worked out Now I am participating in kata championships, I have won and achieved top spots several times. The most important thing is – to try Kata is not lame because you learn all the techniques required for you current and future belt exams So during the actual exam you don’t worry You don’t care like others about not knowing the kata’s or technique When you are a kata practitioner, you do well with technicque and kata’s, Because you have learned and honed the skills So in essence the exams become not as difficult Now counter with the leg Good Carry on… right, right Divert, well done, recover Come on come on! Leg Two from bellow Erika Three from bellow Good move Add a knee to the head. Bend an d use the knee Well done 30… Good Look where one goes through carryy on with additional 3-4 more One by one I see you’re a patient one Endured, endured I manged to listen to Lukas advice during the fight I di everything right and… won. Good move, abdominals I’m not a kata pracitioner anymore, because of after advancing to another age bracket I got into adults age bracket I’ve wanted to dedicate more time to combats. Prepare for combats and kumite contest So when I had to learn new kata’s I’ve decided to persuade single goal And leave kata’s only for exams At this championship I had one combat whcih was fatal for me Because I have lost by KO It was the first in my personal karate history The preparations were minimal Could say that I wasn’t really prepared for the combat So I guess that this was the determining factor that led to my slow reaction time When I did not react in time to defend myself properly and got punched Aiste take the speed up to 10 As soon as you approach her keep you hands high Jurate straight to the head Right now… Closer… Fell it One more time Same leg I’m not a kata practitioner anymore because It’s hard to be honest Hard to prepare for both kata’s and comabts And requires double or even triple the amount of time, effort, power But when it is possible to combine kata’s and combats it’s very good and becomes a sign of a very tough fighter By preparing for kata competition you actually prepare for the combats as well But as I have mentioned previously if there is time shortage one has to choose between the two. I personally choose – combats I had 3 combats in the Lithuanian championship Siauliai arena is nice First opponent didn’t seem to be strong I felt that I am physically stronger Technically better prepared My punches were stronger so I have won that combat by KO Carry on with the chudan like that Knee to the head Second combat Was the semi-finals where my opponent was stronger than me. He has defeated me He got me on the leg His leg kicks were strong Maybe my legs are not so resilient So it happened that he got my legs and knock me down You did’t get him but it’s all good I was thinking that I’m not going to fight for the third place But the coach friends and my girlfriend motivated me So I went for it, gave it my all Opponent didn’t really have an answer to me. He had nothing left to do, I gave him no space to attack So I knocked him down Well done. Manly. Character/spirit.
And you didn’t even want to fight Get it on 40 Come on! I’m telling you I have participated in Lithuanian adult championship -95 weight class there were 4 of us 4 participants I had two combats do a frontflip the first combat was quite difficult because I came after sickness. I was sick for two weeks. So it was hard to overcome My opponent but I have managed to do so I have won in the first round Second combat was with a fighter I know well When I had to end it I had no power at the end Enemy overwhelmed me and won When you get on the tatami for the first fight There’s always some fear Especially when your opponent is 33 years old it is a bit more difficult because he might have more experience but the coach by your side helps to gain composure, relax and the combat goes on good we agreed not to do it in singles, carry on second combat was a mater of principal to me this semi-final combat between the two of us happens for the third time in a row first year I lost, because I let a punch trough to my neck but the judges haven’t noticed this second time around I have lost because of an illegal attack to the opponents head so I got disqualified third time around I have finally reached my goal and defeated him by a head-kick KO I got into finals I had some minor injuries from the previous combats It happened so that I kicked him in the elbows several times So later on in the fight I had no feeling in my left leg and could not carry on 1,2,3 I had only two combats today I have won both of them in the first round And the final result is – champion of Lithuania. Finally a champion. When your life does not exclusively revolve around karate Also everything is great in my family life And my older child was selected to represent Ireland in Switzerland. We will fly there in march So then I can support my child and assist him during the fight So I can be not the fighter but assist my child work with your hands faster. 40 Not the hardest competition in my opinion But some work had to be done. First combat was easy But in the second one I had to put in the effort On the inside I felt that I have to win first place Because I was second last year, so today I had to climb one step higher and get the first place So I would get into European championship, for sure. I won the first place, but it’s not done yet, because European championship awaits. There will be even harder oponents 40 seconds left, push it My friend is very… I cant even find the right description He pushes me to work it till the end He said that if I don’t do the ending, he’ll be upset for the rest of the day. It takes an effort being with him. When your other half or relative supports you pushes you to train it gives you motivation, but Any friend or a loved one By pushing and motivating you when you don’t feel your best, when you worry, the support you get is very important In my opinion if one of the two in the couple does sports, the other one has to come and support him This way on shows his support and love to the other So the one who goes to fight on the tatami to represent Lithuanian pride at the competition I think that other halves support is very important and means a lot. Speaking of relationships, I have two opinions The first one: I support the idea of bringing you significant other to the competition because it motivates you more Other opinion: sometimes the other half can sometimes intervene with your preparation for the competition In my personal opinion, since both of us are sportsmen, an both of us participate. We arrive together but we try not to interfere with each other during the competition, we support each other but try not to interfere. When only one participates in the competition, so one is purely supporting, it is very good and shows that the other one cares. I would prefer for my friend not to come, because it’s hard for me to concentrate then, I think about her Instead of thinking about the competition So I prefer for her to wait for me at home. We have common hobbies, we do sports together He doesn’t do karate yet but he’s planing to He does weightlifting in the gym Our relationship is like space Maybe I’ve lost the competition because there was no support from someone special For me relationships are related to seasons of the year For example in the summer everybody is happy But sometimes autumn comes and you get sad, and sometimes relationships get worse Winter comes and everything freezes but then the spring comes and everything gets reborn It is not a constant thing, you are never the same you are not a robot There are always ups and downs in relationships For me personally relationships are like nature – unpredictable. Many thing happen – waves, fights Also you have good sunny days when everything is nice and calm We are happy. Relationships are like that. I could not compare my relationship to something in particular But I value commitment Relationships are like the sea – endless They never stay at one spot There waves, some days are restless some are very calm Yes I think sea is the best example I study in the Military academy, so I don’t have much time I am always busy so for me relationships are associated with weekends Because that is the only time I have time to meet someone.
