Shinfield murder investigation: woman in 40s found dead on Boxing Day

Forsenic police are at a home in Shinfield
this afternoon after a woman’s body was found in the early hours of this morning. Although Thames Valley Police have arrested
a man they are appealing for witnesses to come forward. In a statement, the force said they were called
to Parker Close around 5.40am on Boxing Day, Wednesday, December 26 after the body of a woman in her
40s was found there. It is believed to have been an isolated incident. A man, aged 47 from Shinfield, has been arrested
on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody. A scene watch is in place in the area while
officers are conducting enquiries to establish the circumstances of the woman’s death. Investigating officer, Detective Inspector
Will Crowther, said: “We are in the early stages of enquiries. “We have made an arrest in connection with
the woman’s death. “I would like to hear from anyone who saw
or heard anything unusual in Parker Close earlier today and would encourage anyone with
information to contact Police.” Anyone who has information is asked to call the
24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101, quoting
