Kung Fu Blocking Techniques : Kung Fu Blocking Techniques: Outside Palm Block & Body Hook

My name is Wes Rhodes, I’m from the Chinese
Kung Fu Academy for Expert Village and this is how you perform Kung Fu sparring technique
outside palm block, body hook. This is a technique you can actually step in with or you can actually
hold your rear leg back. The idea is you block with the left hand, pushing the palm out and
you’re going to swing the right arm, using the waist to hook punch towards the body.
You can either stay there in place or you can step in and add some momentum to the technique.
The way it looks with an opponent is, as they through their front hand punch, you’re going
to block and you can either stay right here and hit towards the kidney, drive the punch
in this way or you can actually step in behind, which sometimes I like this better because
you’ve got a lock in the knee and so it’s a pretty useful technique to keep them from
wanting to throw anything else. Do one slow and one fast, just like that. This technique
works the same way, left to left. They punch with the left hand, you can actually hook
this way, step in and body hook straight on. The risk is greater because their right hand
is exposed and they could hit you in the head but the reward is also greater because you
aim straight down the center line and the targets are much more vulnerable. Again, my
name is Wes Rhodes, I’m from the Chinese Kung Fu Academy and that is how you perform an
outside palm block body hook.
