Kung Fu Blocking Techniques : Kung Fu Blocking Techniques: Outside Forearm Block & Hook Punch

My name is Wes Rhodes. I’m from the Chinese
Kung Fu Academy and from Expert Village and this is Kung Fu sparring technique outside
forearm block, hook punch. This is a counter technique that you want to use when your opponent
really advances in. You are going to lead with the left hand to block, just step through
and hook, stepping with the right and you’ll notice that the timing is, I don’t really
do much with my arm I just step and let the hand fall through naturally. So it is going
to look like this one, two, see and a little faster is one, two just like that. As they
step in and punch with the left and the technique is going straight in. So when you do it you
step in and just hook punch over the top just like so so keep the arm relaxed to increase
your speed and one done slow, one, two, one done a little faster is one, two, just like
that. Same idea you can lead with the right hand, hook punch right over the top. You don’t
want to reach out too much you want them to really come in as you do this punch and it
will allow you to put a lot of power in this hook punch. Now for self defense skills if
you punch with the right hand you can lead with the hook punch and it naturally fits
right into an arm lock so as a self defense skill goes this is also a very useful technique.
Again my name is Wes Rhodes and I’m from the Chinese Kung Fu Academy and again that is
how you perform the outside forearm block, hook punch.

  1. 'Expert village' needs to be banned from youtube!
I don't know what other areas they go into, but their Martial Arts and cookery sections are fucking deplorable.
