Jeet Kune Do Martial Arts Techniques : Combat Techniques for Basic Jeet Kune Do

Woods of Unified Martial Art Academy in Miami, Florida and today we are going to be talking
about beginners jeet kune do. So one of the training principles in jeet kune do is what
we call the 4 ranges of combat or sometimes known as the 4 skills or the 4 aspects of
combat. Which break down to kicking, punching, trapping and grappling. Now if you ask any
one on the street whether if they have trained in martial art or not everybody know instinctively
or automatically that kicking refers to the leg and punching refers to the arm. So since
everyone has ability knowledge of what kicking and punching is in jeet kune do training it
is always a good idea to start there with basic kick boxing. So I’m just going to have
my partner here throw a side kick for example into the kick shield here. We would go slow
first just to show the mechanics of it slide up, chamber, extend, retract, and then down.
So now we go one more time slow slide up, chamber, extend, retract, and then down. Then
go real time and one more time and one more time.
