How to Do Sambo Martial Arts : Doing a Strike Throw Grip Combo in Sambo Martial Arts

STEPHEN R. KOEPFER: On behalf of Expert Village,
my name is Stephen Koepfer of New York Combat Sambo in New York City, and today we’re going
to show you Sambo combinations. Okay, this next Sambo combination again is going to involve
a strike and a throw and we’re going to start from a grip, and we’re going to do a single-leg
shoot after a shoot entrance, subsequent to an elbow strike to your opponent’s face. So,
we have the grip, he’s making it difficult for me to get into his legs, I’m going to
go with the overhand motion but I’m going to follow through with an elbow here, continue
my arm down to his leg where I’ll do an ankle pick, drive my shoulder against his knee into
a Single Leg Takedown. Again, continuous motion throughout: strike, entrance, takedown, elbow,
down into a single leg. From here it’s very important; if you don’t want to get caught
in his half guard, you control this leg and pass to the side position where you have control
over him.
