How Does Martial Arts Relate To Business

– I realize there’s a lot of
philosophy that you actually, bring them in from your
martial arts background, and even through public speaking. Like, as I was taking notes, I realized that a lot
of the preparation work, even the structure of how you
prepare yourself for a speech, in front of the public, it’s just like preparing for a fight. – Yes. – Right, getting your mind into the zone. So would you tell the
public or recommend them, if they want to be a better
public speaker or better closer, do you think they should start
doing martial arts as well? – Well I think martial
art is just what I like. I think you gotta find
whatever works for you. Like, don’t copy what I do. But, the fact I like martial art because it’s not a physical sport. – True. – It’s a mental sport. Right because a lot of time, or you can play tennis, or you
can play golf, play all that. It’s nice but martial
art is a sport where, let’s say I’m hitting a heavy bag. Right, doesn’t matter how good you get, you’re competing with yourself. And it’s all about
limiting your own defect. I can throw a punch. Well, I can throw a punch
but can I hit it with speed? Right, can I hit it with power? Can I get all that I need
to learn and practice and do all that stuff. So I love that part of it and it’s a never-ending challenge. It’s never good. It’s never good enough. You find someone that can do
it faster, bigger, stronger. So I love that aspect. – There’s always someone that’s
gonna be better than you. – And I can go super philosophical, where I can not have a physical. I can just goes all philosophical with it and I can go that extreme. I love that crazy deep dive
of life and philosophy. – Excellent. – I love that aspect of it. – Love it. Well guys if you haven’t
subscribed to Dan Lok on YouTube, you guys are missing out. So make sure stay tuned and
subscribe to my amazing sifu. – Thank you, thank you. – Alright. (applause)

  2. Boom, first to comment! From what I understood, even if one is not a martial artist, it is about being better than oneself. To keep improving oneself. There is is always someone better. Great principle to share! Thank you for teaching us as always ❤️ – Victoria Lehnard

  3. Martial arts is not only about fighting and self defence. You become a philosopher, getting to know your body and mind. Learning about life and humans. You can apply same discipline and goal orientation to the business world.

  9. When I was in martial arts, I was always taught to not use what we learned for selfish gain. In the same way, if you are just doing things in life to "get rich", then you will most likely fail. Of course, discipline, perseverance, and restraint relate as well.

  10. Dan, you are one of the best mentors ever!! you have an authentic way that is so easy to follow. I am listening to your work every day!! Thank you so much!

  11. Really amazing how you co-relate martial arts with the things that you do. I think a lot of other sports help as well. To succeed, we need to callous our mind. And to callous our mind, physical activity is a great way! Thanks for the video 🙏🏻🙌🏻

  12. Wow. Pure Truth. I developed my own technique. The study of Martial Arts has saved my life numerous times. Thank You.

  13. 100% Agree. In Martial Art, there's always another 'mountain' to climb. It's never ending challenge and competition with oneself. This goes the same to business. Once you snooze you lose.

  14. I think Dan Lok got inspired by Steve Jobs before launching apple he drop out just to learn calligraphy which jobs leverage to make fonts in his Macintosh

  15. #discipline 💰👍
Martial art is definitely a mental sports!
In order to reach your goal, your limit is all in your mind!

  16. A strong body makes the mind strong. The principles of fitness and martial arts (ex: percistence and discipline) can be applied in business!

  17. My wife is a former world champion kickboxer and retired professional boxer, indeed the discipline of a martial art [hers is Kempo] follows us in many aspects of life !!

  18. love from Morocco thanks so much for these useful video I don't know what I'd do without you

  19. Asking how one thing in life relates to any other thing in life belies a lack of understanding regarding the original intent of universities; a desire to find the unity in the diversity. There is nothing in life one cannot use effectively to teach any other aspect of life.

Martial arts to business is not a stretch, because, in reality, they are not actually any different in any "meaningful" way. People are people, and there is no new thing under the sun.

I love how liberally you contribute to the general good of the world by sharing so much useful information here on YouTube. I have chosen to follow your great example! The more wealth education we all offer here, the more people we will have to do business with out there!

  21. Martial Arts expands beyond the physical or sharing traits with other industries, but it's wholly a part of life and and lifestyle. Just watch Bruce Lee, his life was centred around Martial Arts, but through it he expressed his view of life.

  22. In martial arts, the harder you train, the faster the fight. In business, the harder you hustle, the faster you reach your goals. Hi guys! Would just like to share our journey with you. 😀 We own a cookie shop business in our college town. When we first started it, we were living in our car with very little direction, just a huge passion to be successful. We just graduated college as well. We started a cookie shop out of a local bagel shop in their off hours at night. We were living in our car in the parking lot of the shop at the time with my boyfriend, Bran. It was a crazy experience but it worked! We became a success! And how we have our first storefront location (a second launching soon!) We started it to fund a year long backpacking trip around the world and to be successful while living the life of our dreams.

  23. Dan Is The Man! I his work inspired me to create my own youtube channel about marketing. I would love some feedback/support thank you…

  24. Sifu I played competitive tennis and used to play alot of tournaments. There are so many HTC mindset/techniques that I can apply and immerse to my game. What a boom

  25. When you want to sell a product at a premium price, your expenses are more than when you want to sell at a ‘cheap’ price, where is the profit here??

  26. when you throw a punch, throw your fist beyond where there head is,s.dont stop your arm from going forward after making contact;Pretend Your Punch Will Go Beyound There Head,Or body,At Least A Foot,So Take That Step Forward,Just Before you Throw your Punch,And That will Make your Arm Longer,For The Extra Distance You Have to Travel.DB.

  27. Dan, your videos helped me from being a depressed broke college dropout😰 to acquiring HIGH INCOME skillsets and making my first $1,000,000 at 26💰🙏🏼🙌🏼 I still watch your videos to this day💯 thank you

  28. Back then.
I'm watching Bruce Lee's JKD and wanting to learn it.
    And then,
I saw Dan Lok teaching about JKD.
So, I watch Dan and without knowing he is a Multi-Millionaire.
    Here's the catch,
Bruce Lee is not only muscle and power he also has a philosophy that can use through life.
    Like Dan did.
So, now I'm following Dan Lok.
I'm studying Copywriting that Dan Lok taught.
On 5 High-End Careers Or 5 High Income Skills (NO DEGREE REQUIRED)
    Watch it.

  29. That punching speed is serious. Sifu, did you purposely design your suit to be battle ready? Because normally it's hard to throw a good punch in a fitted suit without breaking it.

  30. I get alot of gems from skateboarding, its teaches you to face your fear & not give up. I once spent 2 hours trying to land a single trick.
