Five Animals Shaolin Martial Arts : Snake Fighting Style in Shaolin Martial Arts

Hi my name is Adam Bowling. I’m representing
the Christian Martial Arts Association. On behalf of Expert Village, I’m here to talk
to you about the Five Animal Forms of Kung Fu. I want to talk to you now about aspects
of Snake Style. The Snake Style was the style that was used by much smaller body type, smallest
body type in fact. Tamo kept this in mind that there would be different people with
different body types and each style might suit another person best. So, as a generalization,
he set up small people with Snake Style. The Snake Style was also a style that was never
a straight on striker predominantly. The Snake Style would strike in circles and always moving,
never never stopping. If the snake was able to stop, then the snake would get caught and
the snake would be able to be taken advantage of. The Snake Style was characterize by low
stances and high stances, striking in different directions, funny directions. The Snake Style. A Snake stylist would be
more apt to be a smaller person. They do sometimes do straight on strikes. But it’s always a
quick strike. Everything is quick. Everything is circular. Everything is always moving.
The Snake is typified by its movements, never ceasing. This is an explanation of the Snake
Style.

  1. @wubs23 I think he meant you try to circle your opponent when using this style, though I can't imagine any opponent that would let you get away with that. XD

  2. haha i wonder if this guy really got into a fight whether or not he'd be able to apply any of his skills bcuz he doesn't look like it and the snake style looks whimpy according to him….

  3. Leave peoples beliefs alone this is about the art not about him pushing religion so piss off. Let the people of this world be critizism spurs hatred and hatred spurs more hatred. His form is good and though he may not explain it the greatest he does well what what GOD gave him. Jesus didn't do kung fu that we know of. Jesus and His disciples did teach that what ammount you judge others with it will be judge upon you. So… Peace Im out zoooommm

  4. Well, the beginning sparring session was….weird……but his demonstration of the style's form was pretty accurate and well done

  5. @nikecastlecrasher southern snake fist is hard to learn, but very effective. You should look up southern tiger and southern arhat fist, sound like that would suit your approach to fighting 🙂

  6. @SuperNinja2000 Jesus need it to fight the roman's soldier…but he was helpless because all the snake, tiger, lion, chipmonk skill didn't work against the roman sword muahuahauhauahua

  7. @Marx047 yeah i saw that too. but in a fight situation your basics are what keeps you alive. sometimes things come so fast you have to change up the styles you may go from a tiger form to a snake form just based on what your opponent does. but his form was pretty close/accurate.

  8. Dude ehow guy eat some eggs steak and stuff for protein dude you look like your going to turn into dust boy.( Im Budhist)

  9. omg he looks just gay when he does snake fist. Jackie Chan looks awesome. This dude just look too gay like hes just a geek who just watched "snake in eagles shadow" and trying to follow the moves.

  10. Sake style is a very old technique I think the guy that made all the styles of kung fu perfected it before actually using it he didn't just think it up he had time and practiced it and perfected it it is a very useful syle for smaller faster people

  11. @CabalFbKiazume You obviously missed the point even with a pointy head good thinking Cabal. Misread a comment jump the typing gun and try and downgrade another person that is the American way is it not?

  12. You're pretty agile but you really need to go and learn REAL martial arts and not that pretend crap.

You could be good if you found a real teacher. If you paid for what you "know", your "teacher" should be in jail for fraud.

  13. @Elusareth – the problem is that this guy is making up all those "moves". This is a fraud and not real martial arts. That's the reality. If he was a new student, he would not be allowed to represent ANY school but he is someone posing as an "expert". There is a harm because someone might copy these movements and get hurt in a real situation because they have no real martial content.

  14. @wubs23 snake strikes straight, but for protection it moves in a circular form, it's just to get the opponents arms cleared so you can give a good strike.

  15. This guy is great, but ive always wondered, being a christian, what is the churches response to christians practicing martial arts?

  16. @metalbeast Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah Woah shut up you athiest!!!

  17. This guy got some moves. But I can take him down in no time at all using my derivation of snake style in no time too. His strikes ain't effective. And he is so open that he seems to be inviting me to take him down.

  18. @Lukash9494 You are spot on, except for all of it. All Karate comes from Crane style Kung-Fu first taught in Okinawa, it spread from there. As for TKD I am not sure so not going to comment, except to say this, an expert in any martial art will beat someone who is not an expert. This fella is showing examples of lots of different styles but is a master of none. (also interesting that you observe him being "open", TKD is one of the most open styles you can get)

  19. Snake style shall combine with the power of waist, strength of finger, etc. This fellow is only showing the move. Well, everyone can train his power of waist, strength of finger, but if the movement is not succeed, no one in the future can equipe the style

  20. @shintakenji
Same for tiger, same for crane, same for leopard….
There's no better style, it depends on who practices it, and who is stuid best for that style.
Besides, people should try using many styles, not one…

  21. @shintakenji A sniper rifleman is infantry son, what you mean to say is a regular infantry rifleman and even then you would be wrong because even without a sniper rifle you still have emphasis on the precision and accuracy. Also a sniper is much slower than its standard range counterpart. You're analogy is therefore shit. Fuck you.

  22. @najawunderbar yeah and i hate idiots that cant type for shit…. maybe you should LEARN… jesus…
(read your comment tell me it makes sense)

  23. its just a fuckin dance to me i don't bilieve in hurting joints with a small hit, hit them hard and fast with rhythm

  24. I think he is too nice to take a REAL animal fighting art. So, not necessarily his fault that his material bites. Maybe he just got his black belt online.

  25. cuz ur the kind of person who cant take shit like a joke and people find u to be bitch cuz u cant take jokes

  26. Hahahaha!!He is one hell of a Joker! Adam, why not u give this shit up and start living your life, dude how much longer are u gonna make a fool out of urself,? i've learned snake kungfu in China , i showed them this video and they started laughing, thats not even a snake! hahahaha!!!

  27. Oh shit man… This is crap at its finest… u didnt do any of ur examples to ur partner…. This is a joke rite? Is this?

  28. Your snake style would get knocked into next week. A couple of jabs to the nose and eyes followed by a right hook to the chin. Good night and enjoy you trip to the ER. Ever see Napoleon Dynamite??

  29. You are getting confused with boxing, and strategic fighting. Boxing is only a sport, it's different when it is real life.

  30. Boxing is a sport and its strategic as well. Tell us what go to a boxing gym and call on them out see how well you do then let us know all about it

  31. are you serious? "christian" kung fu??? this is way too much insulting for the real shaolin monks and no matter how much of an "expert" you are, you still bring shame on them!

  32. Is there any special sound u should do any time u breath when u do a hit??…By the ways good video,, I have practiced snake style for a little bit

  33. Did this clown, just mess up the snake style or did he mess up my snake style, sweet cream on an ice cream sandwich, what in the blue world was that?

  34. Why am i here on this side of youtube? Also you should probably stop smoking. Then again eh maybe, maybe not dead Shrugs

  35. Theoretically speaking, you're almost right, but your movements are clumsy, never resembling a true snake practitioner. I've been practicing Snake Style for over 45 years and I've seen nobody moving like you do. Snake Styles consists of 18 different types of snakes, and the python is the largest one specializing in choking, strangling, coiling, etc. Hey, keep doing your karate.
