Cobra Kai: Tommy Actor Robert Garrison Dead At 59 | KARATE KID

Robert Garrison has died, aged 59. Garrison passed away on September 27, 2019 Robert’s acting career began back in the
1970’s, with appearances in Starship Invasions, and Search and Destroy. But his most notable role was playing Tommy
in The Karate Kid, back in 1984. He starred alongside Ralph Macchio and Pat
Morita in the classic film, and was one of the members of the Cobra Kai dojo. The late actor later reprised his role in
the 1986 sequel. After taking a long break from the limelight,
Robert once again returned to the franchise earlier this year, in the form of YouTube
series Cobra Kai. The Karate Kid star passed away in hospital
on Friday, following a long health battle. His family confirmed the sad news, telling
TMZ he ‘had been in the hospital for over a month’, and was ‘suffering with kidney
and liver issues’. The publication states his ‘organs shut
down’. They are currently planning his funeral arrangements. Tributes have poured in for the star on social
media, with one fan commenting: ‘RIP Rob Garrison aka tommy from the karate
kid #tommy #cobrakai.’ ‘RIP Rob Garrison from @CobraKaiSeries & #KarateKid,’ another wrote. ‘So glad he got to return for season 2 of
Cobra Kai and I thank him for being a part of something that has influenced my life for
over 30 years #CobraKai.’ ‘RIP Rob Garrison My heart goes out to his
family and friends. So sorry for your loss,’ a Twitter user
said. Robert has been survived by brother Patrick,
and sister-in-law Linda. Like share and subscribe for more great videos

  1. His character in Cobra Kai died on the show before the actor did. I am sure Martin Kove is sad about this but I wonder if his character John Kreese feels any sadness? I did not see any sympathetic comments from Kreese on the show?
