Beginner Kyokushin Karate Techniques : How to Do a Side Strike to the Body in Kyokushin Karate

On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Tony
Capraro, Sensei of Kyokushin Karate, Without Limits Inc, 1652 Richmond Avenue Staten Island
New York. We are here today to present to you basic Kyokushin technique. Next basic
Shuto attack is what they call Hizo Uchi, side of the body strike. So right from right
Sanchin Dachi, Mate. It is down low. One, two and three. One two and three. Now Rei.
Now as a part of self defense, get into Zenkutsu Dachi Gedan Barai, Mate, he throws punch to
my face upper block, to the side. Again, upper block to the side. Hizo Uchi. Again, upper
block, to the side. Now Rei.

  1. I never understood why is this strike in kyokushin.
Honestly, just sink your fist into his liver if he's that open, with the shuto (knifehand) you're just gonna fuck up your own hand (besides leaving your face quite open and not having the stopping power on your strike to prevent him from downright demolish you.)

  2. I find the hand movement to be the hardest thing to learn… I just started 2 weeks ago and I'm a little dyslexic… This is very useful for practicing at home. Thanks
