Beginner Boxing Lessons : Shadowboxing in Boxing Lessons

The next area that we’re going to cover, now
that the new student knows at least three combinations, the new student has some footwork
now that he can use, what we’re going to be doing is some shadowboxing. Whereas a moment
ago, when we were working with just the footwork, I don’t have the new boxers throwing any punches.
I want that footwork instilled into them. They’re going to use that for a couple weeks
to a month or so, and just get used to the actual footwork. The shadowboxing part is
going to be coming now whereas they’re going to be throwing punches that they know, only
the ones that they know, the three punches that they know already, while working with
footwork at the same time. It’s not going to be in any particular cross pattern this
time, with the six forward and the three back, but it’s going to be a combination of everything
they know with all the footwork: moving in, moving out, moving left, moving right, forward,
backward, circling -a little bit of everything while they’re throwing punches at the same
time. They’ll do this for 3 two-minute rounds, also. Nick, can you show us some shadow boxing,
please? That’s great. Okay, thanks.

  1. the problem is you have to show them the reason for everything thats what it takes to be a good boxer… knowing why and doing instinctivly what will allow you to win at anygiven time… ne ways decent vid peace

  2. when nick is shadowboxing where does the sound come from? i watched another vid and said that never to open your mouth but i cant seem to do the sound from the nose. and does that help in shadow boxing? does he exhale whenever he punches?

  3. He's got good body movement and good foot movement…just the jab is not fully extended. and he moves his elbow out to the side…other than that it's a very good video
