A beloved athlete’s life was cut short over the weekend after she suffered a deadly brain injury during a boxing match in England  Sai Aletaha, 26, was competing in the 19th edition of Fast & Furious Fight Series in Southampton on Saturday when she was fatally struck, event organizers said a Facebook post Advertisement  The unspecified injuries left her in “a critical state that she tragically has not recovered from,” according to the post  Police told BBC News that the woman was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead early Sunday morning No charges have been filed, but an investigation is underway.  Fast & Furious organizers said their matches are “as safe as possible,” with “full medical” monitoring and assistance throughout the events  “All competitors get in prepared that they may be injured and this is something not expected to happen 99 9% of the time,” they wrote.
